If you are purchasing a tuxedo for someone who cannot come in to our store and try the items on please use these measuring guidelines and bring them to our store. We will be glad to assist you in selecting a tuxedo for your special occasion.
The body size chart may vary with each individual and are to be used as a general guide for a better fit. All measurements are in inches.
1. Jacket Size & Length
Jacket Size2. Neck Size
Measure around chest, just below arm pits. Add 2 to this number and you will have your Jacket size. For example a 40" chest measurement would require a 42 Jacket.
If you are exceptionally broad in the shoulders and chest you may want to add 3 to the chest measurement for more room.
The smallest Men's coat size is 34. If you measure smaller than a 32" chest please feel free to give us a call so that we can help you determine your size.
Jacket lengths range from Short, Regular, Long, and Extra Long.
The following list shows height ranges that usually coincide with the appropriate length jacket. This is a general range chart to be used as a guide, however some people have longer waists, and others have longer legs. These may cause variations in the necessary jacket length. Also, be aware that some jacket lengths may vary depending on style and designer.
Neck Size3. Sleeve Length
Take a shirt that fits you well, lay collar flat and measure from center of collar button to far end of collar button hole. The measurement in inches is your neck size.
You can also simply measure around your neck and keep at least one finger between your neck and the tape measure.
A medium shirt will fit a 15"-15.5" neck, a Large fits 16"-16.5" and so on.
Sleeve Length4. Waist Size
Hold arm straight out to your side parallel to the floor, bend your elbow and measure from center of back to elbow and up to the wrist.
Waist Size5. Inseam
Wrap a tape measure over a shirt around your waist at the height you usually wear your slacks. Tuxedo pants are made to be worn at the natural waist (your navel). Keep one finger between tape and body. You do not want these pants to be baggy in the waist or length.
FYI: The tuxedo pants that we offer are adjustable in the waist between 3 sizes at set intervals (27"-29", 30"-32", 33"-35", etc.)
InseamHeight & Weight
Take a pair of pants that fit you well, lay flat with side seams together. Fold one leg back and measure flat leg from crotch inseam to bottom of pant. Make sure that these pants are not excessively long and baggy.
When selecting pants we will try to get as close to the inseam measurement requested and if not available we will make sure that the pants have enough length to be let out. Occasionally alterations will be necessary to get the appropriate length.
Height & Weight
Its is often very helpful to know a persons height and weight to help verify the accuracy of other measurements.
