Formalwear Outlet Supports Eblen Charities' Prom Dress Express in Western North Carolina

At Formalwear Outlet, we believe that prom should be a magical experience for every student—no matter their circumstances. That’s why we’re proud to support Eblen Charities’ Prom Dress Express, a program dedicated to providing free formal attire to high school students in need.

Formalwear Outlet is donating 250 prom dresses and 250 tuxedos to Eblen Charities for Prom 2025, specifically to help students in Asheville, NC, and surrounding areas in Western North Carolina who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. We know that many families are still recovering from the devastation, and we want to ensure that no student has to miss out on prom because of financial hardship.

How You Can Help

In addition to our donation, we are collecting gently used and new men's and women's formal attire for the Prom Dress Express through February 28th. Your contributions will make a huge difference in ensuring that even more students can attend their special night with confidence and joy.

What We’re Collecting

• Gently used or new prom dresses and evening gowns
• Tuxedos, suits, and dress shirts
• Dress shoes for men and women
• Accessories such as jewelry, ties, handbags, and belts

Please make sure all donations are clean and in good condition, free of stains, tears, or significant wear.

You can drop off your donations at Formalwear Outlet 415 Millstone Drive, Hillsborough, NC 27278 during our regular business hours. Our team is happy to assist and answer any questions you may have.

About the Prom Dress Express

Eblen Charities’ Prom Dress Express is an annual event that provides free formalwear to high school students for prom and military balls. In March 2024, the initiative helped over 300 students find their perfect look, ensuring they could enjoy their special night without financial stress.

With the additional need in Asheville and Western North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene, we expect an even greater demand for Prom 2025—and we’re committed to helping as many students as possible.
