Miss Orange County & Miss Chapel Hill Scholarship Opportunity

Did you know that the Miss America Opportunity is the largest provider for scholarship assistance to young women in the United States? Established in 1921, they awarded over $5 million in tuition scholarships in 2025 alone. All women who have become Miss America have one thing in common, they started on a local stage.

The Miss Orange County & Miss Chapel Hill Organization is a 501(c)3 non profit Scholarship Organization, and an official preliminary to the Miss North Carolina and the Miss America Opportunity. These organizations empower young women in our community and support their educational aspirations through scholarships.

On September 19, 2026 the Organization will hold a competition for the 2027 Orange County and Chapel Hill Miss and Teen representatives. Young women ages 13-28 are encouraged to register for the competition, to be held at 6 pm at East Chapel Hill High School.

Additionally, girls ages 5-13 are invited to register for the noncompetitive Miss Americas Little Sisters mentorship program, known as the Carolina Stars program. The Stars will participate in a dance number, and be crowned on stage by Miss North Carolina’s Teen. They will have the option to appear with their queens, for service and appearance opportunities through the community during their year of reign.
