Dresses that you see on our website are the same dresses that you can come in to our store to try on. We do not special order dresses. If you choose to purchase through our website you will be purchasing a dress from our in stock inventory.
Frequently Asked Questions - Formalwear Outlet Dresses
Do I need to make an Appointment?
At this time we do not require or take appointments. Please allow yourself plenty of time to shop as we carry a very large inventory of over 5,000 Prom, Pageant and Formal Occasion Dresses.
We have a knowledgeable staff to assist you. Keep in mind that Saturdays are generally our busiest day and you may need to allow a little more time especially during our peak season in the Spring.
We recommend you arrive at least one hour (or more) before closing time to give yourself plenty of time to browse and try on dress to avoid feeling rushed.
Do you special order dresses?
We do not special order dresses. We offer thousands of New Prom, Pageant and Formal Evening Dresses in stock starting at just $99 each with no dress priced more than $275. We offer many of the same New Designer Dresses that you can find in other stores for $350-$800. We do not carry flower girl or little girls pageant dresses.
Can you tell me if you have a specific dress in stock?
You can view a wide variety of dresses available in our store by selecting the Shop Online Tab at the top of our site, but please be aware we offer many dresses in our store that are not pictured on our website. Not every dress shown will be available in every size or color.
The only way to check our full selection is to come in to the store, especially during Prom Season when inventory is constantly changing.
We stock thousands of dresses. To find out availability of a specific style or size please use our Contact Form and we will do our best to respond to you within 24 to 48 hours. You may call us at 919.644.8243 Monday - Friday between 10am and 5pm for immediate assistance, but we are not usually able to check stock on weekends.
How often do you receive dress shipments?
There is not a specific schedule that we receive shipments of new dresses.
We get shipments much more frequently late September - early February as we prepare for Prom Season and less frequently in late Spring and Summer.
Do you register Dresses?
We do register dresses for Proms, as well as Pageants, Homecoming and Military Balls as requested.
We register dresses so that we can tell you if someone has already purchased the dress you have chosen for the same prom or event. Most women prefer not to wear the same dress as someone else at their prom or event. We encourage those who choose the same dress for the same event to look again for a different color of that dress or a different style. Please be aware we will never refuse to sell a dress even if it is being registered for the same event.
What is your Return or Exchange Policy?
We offer Exchanges only on most items, NO RETURNS. Exchanges must be made within 10 business days from the date on your cash register receipt.
You must have your original itemized cash register receipt to make an exchange. Items must be in the same condition as when they were purchased to be exchanged. Unaltered, unworn, with all tags and/or packaging intact. Jewelry and Final Clearance items cannot be exchanged.
All dresses being exchanged will be inspected and are subject to Management Approval. For a dress to be accepted for exchange the dress must be unworn and unaltered, with all hang tags and labels in their original positions. Dresses must not be damaged, soiled, stained, torn, and must be free of offensive odors (i.e. smoke). Please be aware that the number one reason for us rejecting an exchange is cigarette smoke, and most often the person buying the dress does not even realize that they've put the dress in a smoking environment.
What is your Dress Hold Policy?
We do not currently offer holds.
Do you offer Alteration Services?
We do not offer alterations at our store at this time. For the fastest service we recommend Lee's Tailors at Southpoint Mall in Durham, NC.
Lee's Tailors has additional locations at Crabtree Valley Mall and Triangle Town Center in Raleigh.
