A dinner jacket is a term for a tuxedo jacket. There is no difference between the two, however, you could argue that "tuxedo" refers to the full jacket and pants look whereas "dinner jacket" refers specifically to the jacket itself. Ultimately, a dinner jacket is the jacket you wear with a tuxedo.
